About Selinda Camp

Selinda Camp is set on the banks of the eastern Selinda Spillway - the waterway linking Botswana's Okavango Delta and its Linyanti and Kwando systems. A relaxed, yet luxury tented safari camp, Selinda Camp was completely rebuilt in 2007. It re-opened to much acclaim, due in part to its harmonious blend of classic tented bush camp style and contemporary amenities. The shaded camp is raised a metre off the ground affording extraordinary views over the Selinda Reserve's prolific floodplains and savannas. Dotting the landscape is the ubiquitous borassus palm, where nesting birds roost and baboons spy. The extensive raised decks, surrounding both in the main lounge and the tents, allow guests to enjoy a meal or a relaxing afternoon while still enjoying wildlife viewing. There is a hardly a moment in camp where there isn't an animal in sight.

Tent Features
  • Chobe-style tents under thatch with each on a raised wooden deck
  • En-suite bathroom with stone bath, twin vanity basins, flush toilet and shower
  • Sliding door access through rear of tent
  • Sliding door entrances to tent from large veranda
  • Fans and mosquito nets

Lodge Features
  • Main area comprises a large decked area (lounge, under thatch dining, star deck, tea deck)

Game Viewing

Game drives are fruitful with a variety of antelope, hippo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elephant and buffalo to be seen. Predator viewing is exceptional including lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.

  • Day and afternoon game drives via 4 open-sided Toyota Land Cruisers (with removable canopies); each vehicle seats 8 with 6 “window” seats. The camp has a supply of bean bags for guests to use to steady their camera while on a game activity
  • A specially adapted photography vehicle is also available at extra cost. This is a Toyota Prado fitted specifically for those guests who want to photograph unhindered. The vehicle has 6 seats: one up front next to the guide, 2 behind the driver row and a back row of 3 seats
