Lodges in Samara Game Reserve

Samara Private Game Reserve is one of the largest private reserves in South Africa. It is located 55km from Graaff-Reinet and just 258km from Port Elizabeth. There is a wonderful sense of space at Samara Lodge. The reserve encompasses the southern flank of the Sneeuberg mountain range and the Karoo lodge is nestled below the escarpment. The private game reserve extends at the lower elevations and comprises part of the famous Plains of Camdeboo. Three dry rivers the Apies River, Melk River and Plat River traverse the property. At the higher elevations the property has two plateaus extending to thousands of hectares.
