Our guides and expert animal tracker will take you through the rugged and pristine terrain of the Nambiti Big Five Game Reserve in search of some of the most splendid animals in Africa. Along the journey, you will learn about the biodiversity of our grasslands, multitude of insects and the magnificence of the Big Five – Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard.

Eight Luxury suites and one Honeymoon suite beckon you in. The beds are King size and dare you to indulgent rest. Bathrooms are en suite with large egg shell baths coaxing one to soak while gazing beyond the private verandah to the natural and wild gardens of the reserve. Spacious showers and double vanity units also pay testament to the fact that everything is designed to exude luxury and ensure that every need is met.

About the Nambiti Private Game Reserve

Nambiti Private Game Reserve is a private Big Five and Wonderful Seven bush retreat and game conservancy set on 20,000 acres of malaria-free bushveld in KwaZulu Natal. It has an incredible biodiversity including savannah, grasslands, thornveld and tall acacia trees. The Sundays River flows through the reserve and has two 40-metre waterfalls with magnificent ravine bush, home to several rare bird species The Nambiti Private Game Reserve has three times the carrying capacity of regions like Botswana and is the only reserve in the region with the big five. We currently have over thirty other species of game including giraffe, hippo, hyena, impala, springbok, and zebra. Encounter one of these magnificent animals only 3½ hours from Johannesburg and 2½ hours from Durban. The spirit of Africa will fill your soul and the experience will stay with you forever. Directions by road

From Johannesburg:

  • Take the N3 heading towards Durban
  • After Van Reenen's Pass take the Ladysmith Toll off-ramp
  • Take the R103 towards Ladysmith
  • Travel along the N11 towards Newcastle
  • Take the D45 right (± 7km after the last traffic light as you leave Ladysmith). This is a dirt road
  • At the T-junction turn right onto the D46. Continue for about 4km until you reach a staffed gate house on the left, signposted Nambiti

From Durban:

  • Take the N3 heading towards Johannesburg and go past The Mooi River Toll
  • Take Bergville/Ladysmith glide off
  • Turn right towards Colenso/Ladysmith and travel past Colenso
  • Go through Ladysmith following the N11 towards Newcastle
  • Take the D45 right (± 7km after the last traffic light as you leave Ladysmith). This is a dirt road
  • At the T-junction turn right onto the D46. Continue for about 4km until you reach a staffed gate house on the left, signposted Nambiti
