About Djuma Vuyatela Lodge

Vuyatela is situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and borders the Kruger National Park. This exclusive lodge is a celebration of modern South Africa in all its intricate glory with an extensive collection of contemporary African artwork. This is a unique African experience, from the coke bottle chandelier to the extraordinary attention to detail in mosaics and other art. Vuyatela meaning 'come and visit again' exudes warm African hospitality.

Daily open vehicle game drives, guided bush walks and bird watching from the suspended tower allow for excellent game viewing opportunities. Daily village trips to the nearby communities allow guests to interact with local people in an authentic and contemporary African environment, learning about customs and traditions. Time can also be spent relaxing in the tranquil wellness centre named the Rubbing Post, an array of pampering treatments await you. For the more energetic there is a well equipped gym or a cosy Library with two computers, permanent Internet access and a flat screen TV.

Each of the 8 air conditioned suites are a collection of buildings joined to each other. The suites are made up of a bedroom, dressing room, spacious bathroom (with indoor bath and outside shower), lounge, viewing deck and plunge pool. The view from the teak deck is into pristine African bush. The suites reflect local architecture without sacrificing luxury in any way.

About Sabi Sand Game Reserve

This reserve shares 50km of unfenced boundary with Kruger National Park and animals are at liberty to go wherever they wish - but they tend to stay right where they are! This is because the Sand River and Sabi River supply much needed water in the dry season and create an eco-system with one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations in Southern Africa. This is the reason why it is quite possible to see the 'Big Five' (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, buffalo and elephant) as well as numerous other animals and birds in a couple of days, or even a couple of hours in Sabi Sand.
