About The Lodge & The Reserve

About The Elephant Sanctuary

Nestled in the Magaliesberg Mountains only one hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria, the Elephant Sanctuary lies in a malaria-free area. The Sanctuary is surrounded by natural indigenous bush and is home to impala, klipspringer, baboons, porcupine, caracal, leopard, a host of other small mammals, 350 bird species and of course six magnificent African Elephants.

Bush Babies - Monkey Sanctuary
The bush babies sanctuary is one of several sanctuaries in a group of sanctuaries, including the elephant sanctuary that provides for orphaned and abused animals. The Bushbabies Monkey Sanctuary covers approximately 7ha situated west of Hartbeesport Dam alongside the Elephant sanctuary it provides an environment where monkeys (primates) can be given their freedom in a natural environment. The sanctuary situated in one of the many Kloofs (Gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range provides the perfect environment for Monkeys from around the world. It is one of only eight free-release primate sanctuaries globally

Tours are highly informative and interesting. Join the guides on a walk through natural indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways and experience a variety of exotic monkeys in an exquisite environment.

The experience is described as non-interactive game-viewing opportunity to see once-captured primates in a wild environment. The walk is leisurely, winding its way through a tranquil forest setting. Along with numerous monkey species, you can also see an abundance of indigenous bird-and wildlife, including green pigeons, species of thrush, barbet and shrike, duikers and bushbabies. When you are done, you can enjoy the offerings from the fully stocked Coffee Bar.

Bush Lodge
Bush Lodge is an African lodge, designed for outdoor living, with it's wide verandah that overlooks the lawned pool area alongside the bar/lounge. Its wooden decks, thatch bar and well-established trees make it an oasis within the bushveld. The lodge has been designed to make our guests feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome. Should your group be taking over the entire lodge, you will find it is like having your own magical home with all the suites feeding out onto the main living area. The Lodge is situated approximately 100 metres from the Main Lodge and has its own bar, thatched lounge area and swimming pool. The rooms are tastefully appointed, with subtle bushveld browns and softer cream tones and sumptuously dressed beds.

There are four standard suites each which consist of two queen sized beds positioned next to each other and an en-suite bathroom. There is then a family suite which consists of two bedrooms each with one queen sized bed in each and an inter-leading bathroom. The last room is privately tucked away and consists of one queen sized bed, private courtyard and en-suite bathroom.
