About Walking Safaris
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL LUXURY WALKING ADVENTURE
Walking Safaris camps at Phinda and Ngala Private Game Reserve have now closed, and in their place, they will be offering private, tailormade Walking Safaris for a maximum of six guests at Phinda, Ngala, Kirkman's Kamp and Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.
These private guided safaris will be tailormade to give guests the best wilderness walking experience on offer in South Africa. The safety of the guest is paramount and only the most expertly trained and qualified guides will be hosting these walks. Our professional walking guides are renowned in the industry, and each hold level 2 certification and a minimum of two years experience. All specialist guides must have completed a certain number of walks into big game before qualifying as walking guide.
The private walking guide will tailormake and personlise the experience to suit the guest's exact needs - should they wish to walk for 2 hours or all day, and should they wish to depart before dawn or after a leisurely lie-in. The aim is for guests to explore the surrounding wilderness on foot, as they walk between lodges, taking time to observe the small wonders, such as spiders, ant lions, and dung beetles. Along the way, a hearty al fresco brunch will be served under a shady tree, followed by a short siesta in a hammock.
