Nkomazi Game Reserve

Kwa Madwala Game Reserve

Kwa Madwala (meaning “place of the rock” in Swazi) Game Reserve rests lazily on the southern side of the esteemed Kruger National Park in the Mpumalanga Province in South Africa. Despite being one of the smaller game reserves in South Africa (4000 hectares) it is anything but inferior. Within its boundaries lives an astonishing array of plant and animal life. With a mixture of low veld savannah and thick bush veld, the reserve offers an extremely varied biome that provides the ideal conditions in which animals such as zebra, impala, kudu, nyala and wildebeest can live and thrive.

A distinct advantage of the conservancy’s smaller size is an excellent game viewing experience, with a reliable presence of lion, elephant and rhino, and occasional appearances by the elusive leopard. During game drives, the guides will delight in introducing guests to the indigenous plant species and diverse animal life of the reserve, while highlighting the unusual, the small and the rare. Kwa Madwala Game Reserve is also one of very few places in the world that offers elephant back safaris, micro light safaris and horseback safaris.

Whether you’re burrowing deep into the African savannah on a bush drive or draped languidly over a wooden sun deck in a 4-star safari camp, Kwa Madwala Game Reserve will give the performance of a lifetime as it presents you with its most astonishing sights and sounds.
