About Timamoon Lodge
Timamoon is a magnificent hideaway set high up in the hills and is surrounded by forests. The Kruger National park is only a 30-minute drive from the lodge & encompasses nearly two million hectares. It is also within close proximity of the Blyde River Canyon.
Each of the luxurious private Moroccan and Zanzibar styled rooms are romantic and unique, with mosquito net draped four-poster beds, large fireplaces and baths to float away in. From your private pool, there are endless views of the distant mountains and the valley where the Sabie River flows and Longcrested eagles ride the afternoon thermals.
Enjoy great cuisine which is served by the renowned chefs of Timamoon. The exotic candle-lit restaurant is built on stilts alongside a small pond and overlooking a tropical garden.
The Accommodation
Moon River & Secret Moon Villa
Built for the perfect romantic experience the Moon River & Secret Moon rooms offer guests an exclusive experience as each room boasts a rim flowing pool which is poised at the edge of the world providing endless forests & a flowing river.
The outside daybed is built on stilts enabling guests to capture the feeling of peace and tranquillity. Panels from India, doors from Indonesia, the four-poster Indian bed, a pebbled fire place and the etchings on the walls combine to give you a truly unique Timamoon experience. Enjoy a relaxing bath in the sunken Moroccan styled candle-lit bath to end the day however if you are looking for a more tropical experience, try the out-door shower.
Bombay Moon
Perched at the very top of the Timamoon Estate, Bombay Moon has the most splendid views of the Sabie Valley and river far below. Boasting a private rock pool, an outside daybed & outdoor shower allows each and every guest the opportunity to take in this magical setting. The Bombay Moon room has an enchanting setting with a four-poster bed, large log fireplace & warm ochre colours. End the day by having a candle-lit bubble bath.
New Moon Villa
This Persian styled room boasts a large fireplace, private pool, amber lighting, outdoor shower and some very special artefacts all whilst offering stunning views of the sun setting over the valley.
Blue Moon
Tucked away and secluded, Blue Moon has endless views of the Sabie valley from its pebble pool deck. The outside daybed hangs over the valley from where one can watch the sun go down at the end of the day.
Blue Moon with its lovely large couch in front of the log fireplace, a mosquito draped four-poster bed and soft lighting all exude a relaxing mood which forms part of the Timamoon experience.
The romantic bathroom with its lanterns cast intriguing patterns around the bath & creates a special ambience to be shared with a partner.
Amber Moon
Tucked away under the shade of the trees is the Amber Moon room boasting its own lush tropical garden & views of the neighbouring forest and banana plantations. It is the perfect spot to spend wonderful lazy days on the secluded deck with a private pool enjoying the peaceful sounds of the forest and birds.
This room also has a lounge with a large log fireplace, Moroccan carpets & vintage Indian doors which create a magical ambience.
Many Moons
Set against the rolling hills of the forest and farm is the Many Moons Villa which is private, tranquil & enchanting. With sunny balconies overlooking the rim flowing pool and natural scenery this Villa exudes relaxation.
The décor has Moroccan & Indian elements as well as artefacts from travels into the Sahara that are unique and warm. An old wooden Indian window opens onto views of the forest that can be enjoyed while you bathe in a candlelit bubble bath.
The Timamoon Restaurant
This Bali-style restaurant built on stilts alongside a small pond is perfect for those memorable romantic candle-lit evenings alongside a log fire. By day, the bamboo blinds are rolled up, the sun streams in and breakfast is enjoyed overlooking the luscious tropical garden & distant hills.
The two renowned top class South African chefs make sure that food at Timamoon is a delight and that every meal as well as every moment becomes a magical experience. End the evening with coffee and brandy in The Temple.

Getting There
Route One to the Timamoon Lodge:
- The suggested route from Johannesburg is Witbank / Middleburg on the N4, turn off to Belfast, Dullstroom, Lydenburg, Sabie – 25 km from Sabie on the R536 towards Hazyview, on your left will be a TIMAMOON LODGE sign, turn left onto the dirt road (3km) and follow the TIMAMOON LODGE signs, as well as the YELLOW ARROWS.
Route Two to the Timamoon Lodge:
- The route from Johannesburg to Witbank / Middleburg on the N4 and turn off at the SABIE sign which is about 25 km before Nelspruit. There is also a sign for Sudwala caves on this road. Follow the signs to Sabie. In Sabie look out for the Hazyview Road (R536), travel for 25 km and just after the 20 km Hazyview sign, you will see the Timamoon sign on your left.
