SINGLE ACCOMMODATION
• There will be a supplement of 50% on the per person sharing rate for single accommodation.
CHILD POLICY
• Children 0 – 7 years free of charge.
• Children 8 – 12 years 50% of the sharing adult rate when sharing with two adults.
• Children 13 years and above, full adult rate accommodated in a separate suite.
• No children under 16yrs are allowed in the pool.
• Babysitting facilities are available should you wish to make use of them at an additional charge.
• Children under 8 years are not allowed on game drives unless a private vehicle is booked at an additional cost, quoted on request.

ABOUT AMAKHOSI SAFARI LODGE

Amakhosi means “The Place of Kings” and this luxurious safari lodge delivers nothing less than a royal bush experience to all guests. Perched along the banks of the Mkuze River in the heart of Zululand, Amakhosi Safari Lodge is surrounded by lush valley bushland, rolling savannahs, majestic mountains and thriving river wetlands. RIVER SUITES
Six luxurious river suites capture nature through ceiling-high windows and private viewing decks across the river. Each suite accommodates two adults with an air conditioned lounge, bedroom, bathroom with a bath for two, separate shower and toilet, safe, bath robes, fully stocked mini-bar and a tea and coffee tray. Built in a shape of a Zulu shield and decorated in a typical Zulu style with a colourful modern touch, all suites are easily accessible from the main lodge.

HONEYMOON SUITES
Umntwana, means "a child of Royalty" in Zulu. Slip into a nirvana in this 'private kingdom' with high thatched ceilings and glass walls. An open-plan design with spacious deck, a private bubble pool and hammock overlooking the river, truly spell 'royal dwellings', whilst an air-conditioned bedroom and lounge, fully stocked mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities and en-suite bathroom made for two, transports lovers into a fantasy world of their own where nothing else matters.

ISIGODLO PRIVATE HOUSE
The "IsiGodlo" meaning a Chief residence, is our private house which overlooks the meandering Mkuze River and is perfectly positioned to capture every African sunset which adorns the rolling hills in this pristine Zululand wilderness. Exclusive, private and located a leopard's leap away from the main lodge, this hidden gem accommodating four deserving guests offers a share of paradise. The spacious lounge entices with large leather sofa's, a centered fireplace and bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms all opening up onto a large wooden viewing deck, giving sweeping views of the valleys and wildlife below. The splash pool provides cool relief on warm days.

ABOUT THE AMAKHOSI PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

The Amakhosi Private Game Reserve is made up of a varied ecosystem. This diversity includes savannah, mountains and wetlands which makes it the ideal home to the "Big Five" as well as giraffe, warthog and hyena not to mention over 15 different antelope species, hippopotamus and crocodile. The wetlands offer no less than 400 bird species, a place of paradise and comfort.

DIRECTIONS
By Road

From Johannesburg (5 1/2 hours)
Exit from Johannesburg on the Witbank N4
Take the Middelburg exit to Hendrina
Continue towards Ermelo on the N11
Continue towards Piet Retief on the N2
Stay on the N2 North until you reach Pongola

From Durban (4½ hour)
Exit from Durban to Stanger on the N2 North
Staying on the N2 North, continue past Empangeni to Pongola

From Pongola (3½ hour)
Turn down the R66 to Nongoma
Continue for ± 22 km
Turn right at the R69 towards Vryheid
Continue for 2 km & turn left down gravel road
Follow the Amakhosi Lodge signs

Additional Suggestions if traveling from Johannesburg due to the roadwork's
Exit from Johannesburg on the Witbank N4
Take the Middelburg exit to Hendrina
Continue towards Ermelo on the N11, turn onto the R65 towards Amsterdam
Turn towards Piet Retief on the R33,continue toward Vryheid on the R33
From Vryheid turn onto the R69 towards Louwsburg / Pongola
Drive about 100km on the R69 and turn off onto the dirt road at the Kwazulu Private Game Reserve, there is also a Amakhosi sign here
