About Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge
Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge is the first wholly owned Community Safari Lodge to be developed in South Africa – a ‘pure’ ecotourism partnership between North West Parks and Tourism Board, the community and the operator.
The main lodge is spectacularly located on two tiers of the Tweedepoort Ridge, accessed via a wooden bridge which crosses a ravine surrounded by rock figs. Each living area has its own character, mood and style providing guests with a choice of breath-taking views and tranquil spaces. Whether you are relaxing in the lounge, the lower or upper deck areas or at the pool, you’re sure to find a space that suits your mood.

Thatched Chalets: each with its own viewing deck, decorated in natural hues of colour and texture, offering a private and luxurious experience

Getting There
From O.R. Tambo International Airport
- Exit the Airport and Take R21 toward Pretoria. At junction with N1 (North) take N1 toward Polokwane.
- Head north on the N1 towards the N4 Toll Road (West) – DO NOT TAKE N4 (East) TO Emalahleni / Nelspruit.
- Take the N4 Toll road west towards Rustenburg, Swartruggens, Groot Marico and Zeerust. Stay on N4 until Zeerust.
- Once in Zeerust turn right at the fourth stop street into President Street. There is a signpost on the left that says “ Madikwe Game Reserve/Gaborone” and an ABSA Bank on the corner.
- Follow the R49 towards (Gaborone) for approximately 90 km (Wonderboom Gate).
- The first entrance to the reserve is Abjaterskop Gate. Pass that gate and enter at the next gate – Wonderboom Gate – exactly 7 kms from the first gate.
- Follow signage inside the park – 8 kms to lodge.
