- Clients self driving to the lodge park their vehicles at the Welgevonden West Gate secure parking area and are transferred to/ex the lodge from there. The drive takes 30 minutes per way.
- Transfer departure times are set, leaving the West Gate between 12h00 & 12h30 on arrival and leaving the lodge at 11h00 on departure.
- It is recommend that you call the lodge once you have reached KRANSKOP PLAZA to confirm your location and they will arrange for their ranger to meet you on time.

About Elephants Crossing Lodge
Elephants Crossing Lodge is situated in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, in the middle of the Waterberg Biosphere. Guests are taken on an exciting Big 5 adventure by our experienced guides. Elephants Crossing is a luxury tented camp and is the perfect bush getaway for all.
The fully solar powered lodge is fitted with a cinematic deck boasting a fireplace that overlooks the waterhole with its roaming wildlife. All accommodation options have a private splash pool where guests are welcome to enjoy their favourite wine or cocktail whilst soaking up the magnificent views.
ROOM TYPES;
Luxury Tents: Offering the most genuine Big 5 experience. Soothing veld sounds complement the luxuriously equipped units, with their private plunge pool, extended deck with cinematic view, seating area and splash pool, and additional outside shower. The inside bathroom features a bathtub. The main lodge is within short walking distance from these tents.
Tented Suite: Soak up the beauty of the Waterberg bushveld in this spacious suite with panoramic view. The large deck and ample seating also features a plunge pool, an outside shower and inside bathtub. The suite is within walking distance of the main lodge.
Bush Villa: Has two bedrooms with separate en suite bathrooms (bathtub included) as well as an outside shower. The villa boasts a fully equipped kitchen, an indoor lounge, a large deck, a private splash pool and its own boma area. The villa is within walking distance of the main lodge.

About Welgevonden Game Reserve
Elephants Crossing Lodge is situated in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, which lies within the greater Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. This UNESCO heritage site is in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, a mere 3,5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg. The region is renowned for its magnificent, rugged topography, interspersed with plateaus, gorges and valleys. Vegetation is largely defined by semi-deciduous forests and classic “bushveld” grasslands. The Welgevonden Game Reserve covers +37 000 hectares and is home to a prolific volume of wildlife, with over 60 species of mammals – including The Big Five – and over 300 bird species. The reserve is malaria free and enjoys a temperate climate, being at an average elevation of 1 450 metres.

Getting There
- Take the N1 North towards Polokwane.
- At the Kranskop toll gate go left towards Modimolle.
- Pass through Modimolle towards Vaalwater.
- Pass through Vaalwater, continue driving on the R517.
- Continue past the Welgevonden Game Reserve Main Gate, and continue another 23 kms until you see a sign to turn left towards the Welgevonden West Gate. Here turn left onto Schoongelegen Road.
- After being stopped at a guarded boom gate, continue for 17 kms until you reach the Welgevonden West Gate on you left hand side. Here our guide will be waiting for you.
