- Children of all ages allowed on game drives and boat cruises in Falaza Game Park, at the discretion of lodge management.
- Children 6 years and older will be allowed on game drives in Hluhluwe Game Reserve.

Falaza offers a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, as well as poolside and kiddies menus leaving guests with a delightful choice of dining options. These menus are complimented by an extensive wine list, as well as creative cocktails, to enjoy during your time of blissful relaxation.
At the Falaza Spa, indulgence awaits guests selecting specialized treatments in advanced facilities nestled amongst the indigenous foliage of the Spa at Falaza. Revitalization, as well as physical and mental relaxation, for both men and women are available in this tranquil environment. From traditionally inspired foot cleansing treatments to advanced skin and body treatments, in addition to a full range of massages and holistic spa treatments – Falaza’s Spa offers pampering of mind, body and soul.
Falaza, a Zulu word meaning ‘Chatterbox,’ is an especially appropriate name… The fully equipped Conference Centre is ideal to host any form of meeting, team-building or conference. It is equipped with modern technology such as a data projector and internet access to all delegates’ seats.
The local area close around Falaza Game Park offers a myriad of exciting activities including ‘Big 5’ game drives in Hluhluwe Game Reserve, Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre, Duma-zulu Cultural Village, a crocodile farm, birdwatching, whale watching (in season), freshwater and deep-sea fishing, beach visits to Sodwana and St. Lucia, a traditional craft market and Ilala Weavers, the St. Lucia World Heritage Site and boat trips on Lake St. Lucia. Falaza staff can organize all of these activities for you, as well as transfers to and from the activities.
Accommodation Types
The lodge accommodates 30 guests in 15 Luxury, twin bedded tents (3 tents can be converted into double beds – subject to availability). All tents are equipped with modern amenities, including fans, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, while heaters and additional blankets are available on request for the chillier months.
7 luxury tents have both indoor and outdoor bathrooms with a bath and shower in both. 5 luxury tents have an indoor shower and bath, and 3 luxury tents only have indoor showers.
The Family Tent comprises of 2 Luxury tents side by side with an inter-leading deck, and is ideal for families with children who are happy to sleep alone, but be close-by. The Honeymoon Tents are a little different with some special extras creating a romantic ambiance for this special time as newlyweds.
All tents are non-smoking.

FALAZA GAME DRIVES – Explore Falaza Game Park in the comfort of an open Game Viewer with the knowledge and expertise of our field guide. Stop mid-way for a beverage while indulging on snacks prepared fresh by the Falaza kitchen. Animals on the reserve include the Giraffe, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Red Duiker, Suni, Nyala, Warthog and other African wildlife species.
FALAZA BOAT CRUISES ON REQUEST (SEASONAL & WEATHER DEPENDANT) – Join the Falaza team on a relaxing boat cruise on the Mzinene River that runs through the Falaza Reserve. The Mzinene River is one of the four rivers that feed the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park. This unique cruise can be enjoyed as a morning cruise or as a sunset cruise while watching breath taking bird life with a good chance of seeing Hippo and Crocodile.
FALAZA NIGHT DRIVE ON REQUEST – After Dinner, with the onset of darkness there is a great opportunity to see some of the nocturnal animals on the reserve with in the beam of the trackers spotlight.

About Elephant Coast
Set in a stunning sand forest in Zululand South Africa, Falaza Game Park is conveniently located close to some of South Africa’s finest wildlife conservation areas. Wildlife that can be seen in Falaza include Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo, Zebra and Hyena, Kudu and Leopard as well as many antelope species such as Nyala, Waterbuck, and the rare Suni. Rich bird life abounds in settings as diverse as the primordial sand forest or the water wilderness park of the Mzinene River. Falaza borders the St. Lucia World Heritage Site, an estuary and unique wetland, Falaza Game Park is on the Elephant Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, close to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, Phinda, and Mkuze Game Reserves.
Falaza is also in close proximity to the renowned Sodwana Bay snorkeling and scuba dive sites, which also offer amazing deep sea fishing or whale watching opportunities. A mere three hour scenic drive from Durban International Airport, just 100km from Richards Bay Airport.
The area’s summer months are from December to March, which is the rainfall season, making it hot and humid. A pleasantly warm and mild autumn follows in April and May, while winter, the dry season, lasts from June to August. Winter days are pleasantly warm and mostly cloudless, although it can be cool at night. The lovely spring months, ideal for spotting returning migrant bird species, are from September to November.

Getting There
Directions From Johannesburg
- Take the N2 to Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola, then take the Hluhluwe turn- off and turn left.
- Then travel through Hluhluwe village, though the turning circles until you reach a stop street, here you will turn left. Approximately 2km further on, turn right over the railway line onto the False Bay Road.
- Travel approximately 8km and turn right at the Falaza Game Park/ False Bay sign. Travel for 4km and at the T-junction turn right onto the D540 dirt road for 1.7 km. Falaza Game park entrance gate is on the right.

- Take the N2 up to the coast approximately 300 km, then take the Hluhluwe turn-off and turn right over the N2.
- Then travel through Hluhluwe village, though the turning circles until you reach a stop street, here you will turn left. Approximately 2km further on, turn right over the railway line onto the False Bay Road.
