Magari is situated within the private Jembisa Game Reserve in the heart of the Waterberg wilderness and is in a spectacular position with breath-taking views above a sweeping bend of the Palala River over savanna and woodland to a backdrop of hills. The landscape provides a wide variety of habitats, resulting in a high diversity of animal and plant species. This 3000 hectare reserve offers 69 animal species and over 270 bird species. Night drives are a favorite where guests can search for the more elusive nocturnal animals such as bush babies, porcupines, aardvark, caracals, leopard and brown hyena.

Has a double bed and separate bathroom with a shower and toilet. The unit is suitable for 2 guests sharing. The unit is situated further back in the garden and has a covered patio, tea/coffee making facilities, as well as a hairdryer/overhead fan / heater / mosquito netting and WIFI.
Garden Room 4 – 5:
Has a double bed and separate bathroom with a bath with shower and a toilet. The unit is suitable for 2 guests sharing. The unit has a bar fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, as well as a hairdryer/overhead fan / heater / mosquito netting and WIFI. Situated on the edge of the garden, this room has an outdoor deck overlooking the valley and river and surrounding hills, and an outdoor shower from which the incredible views can be admired.
Main Lodge Room:

About Waterberg Region
Jembisa Game Reserve lies in the heart of the Unesco world biosphere reserve of the Waterberg. It is a breathtakingly beautiful private reserve that encompasses a wide diversity of habitats and biomes including savannah plains, syringa forests, riverine forests, gullies, rock faces, cliffs, flood plains and with 7km of the Palala river meandering through it. As a result, it is home to a very broad range of fauna and flora species. Game species includes leopard, giraffe, gemsbuck, blesbok, zebra, wildebeest, serval cats, eland, zebra, red hartebeest, hippo, crocodile, steenbok, bushbuck, kudu, duiker, and many nocturnal animals such as civet cats, porcupine, bushbaby, brown hyena, genet, aardwolf and the relatively rare, but frequently sighted at Jembisa, aardvark.

Getting There
DIRECTIONS TO MAGARI VIA VAALWATER
- Take the N1 highway from Johannesburg /Pretoria.
- Turn off at the Kranskop Toll Plaza to Nylstroom/ Modimolle. (Far left off- ramp).
- Once off the N1 and at the top of the off- ramp, turn left towards Modimolle / Nylstroom.
- Go through Nylstroom / Modimolle and continue on towards Vaalwater (± 70km).
- In Vaalwater turn right at the first stop street towards Melkriver.
- You will see the Jan Vleis on the right hand corner.
- At the next stop street continue straight and travel for ± 43km until you reach a T-junction (please ignore the Jembisa sign on your left at the dirt road turn off and continue straight until you reach the T-junction).
- At the T-junction turn left and continue on this road for approximately 8km.
- On the left hand side you will see a sign that says Magari Lodge – turn left onto this gravel road.
- Follow the gravel road until you reach a gate – go through the gate.
- Once through the gate, follow the Magari signs to the Lodge.
DIRECTIONS TO MAGARI VIA MOKOPANE/POTGIETERSRUS
- Take the N1 highway from Johannesburg /Pretoria.
- Travel on this highway for about 190km till you get the NYL Plaza.
- At the NYL Plaza take the Mokopane (N11) off ramp (far left gate of the Toll gate).
- At the top of the off ramp turn left.
- Continue on this road for 1,5km till you reach a T-junction.
- At the T-junction turn right towards Polokwane/Botswana (N11).
- Take this road for about 11km until you reach the town of Mokopane / Potgietersrus
- Turn left at the Nelson Mandela Street towards the N11 North. (Mokopane Supermarket on your left and over the road will be Geen & Richards).
- Take this road for about 8km over the Rooisloot Bridge till you get the Groblersburg / Marken stop street.
- At this stop street turn left towards Marken (R518).
- Continue on this road for about 63km till you see the turn off to the left towards Vaalwater. Take this turn off.
- Travel approximately 2 km on this road.
- On the right hand side you will see a sign that says Magari Lodge – turn right onto this gravel road.
- Follow the gravel road until you reach a gate – go through the gate.
- Once through the gate, follow the Magari signs to the Lodge.
