- Children 0 – 3 years old will be accommodated at no additional cost when sharing with 2 full paying adults.
- Children 4 – 12 years old will be charged 70% of the adult sharing rate.
- Children 3 years and younger are not permitted on game drives for safety reasons.
- Children under 6 years are allowed on a special game drive vehicle, which needs to be arranged by the parents 48 hours in advance.
- Child minding services and private vehicles are available on request and at an additional charge.
- Children under 14 years are not permitted on any walking safaris.

Mont Eco is a 6 500 ha wildlife reserve with historic sites and diverse plant life. The land has been restored to what it once was along with reintroducing the Big 5 and species such as giraffe, mountain zebra etc. for amazing safaris. Enjoy starry night skies for a unique getaway. AREA ACTIVITIES
Montagu hot springs: Relax at the hot springs. Montagu is famous for its hot springs, which have been enjoyed by visitors for centuries. There are several hot spring resorts in the area, where you can soak in the mineral-rich waters and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains.
Montagu wine tasting: Go wine tasting. The Montagu area is part of the larger Robertson Wine Valley, which is known for its excellent wines. Numerous wineries in the area offer tastings, and you can also take a wine tour to learn more about the winemaking process.
Montagu rock climbing: Explore the outdoors. Montagu is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. There are a number of hiking and biking trails in the area, and you can also go rock climbing, horseback riding, or fishing.
Montagu Museum: Visit the Montagu Museum which is a great place to learn about the history of the town and the surrounding area. The museum has exhibits on the geology, flora, and fauna of the region, as well as the history of the Khoisan people who were the first inhabitants of the area.
Shop for local crafts: Montagu is a great place to find unique souvenirs. Many shops in town sell locally made crafts, such as pottery, jewellery, and textiles.
Getting There
Directions from Montagu:
- Entering Montagu from Ashton/Cogmanskloof, continue straight onto Long St/R62 toward Barrydale for approximately 2.5 km.
- Follow the bend to exit town across the bridge.
- In approximately 650m from the bridge, at the intersection, turn left onto Talana Road.
- Continue on Talana Road for approximately 1.6 km & and turn left onto the gravel road towards Ouberg/Touwsrivier/Ladismith.
- Continue straight on the gravel road for approximately 15.1 km. Turn right on the Driekuilshoogte road.
- Continue straight for approximately 9.3 km.
- Keep right at African Game Lodge.
- Continue straight for approximately 4.5km till you reach Mont Eco’s Main Gate.
Route Suggestions:
From Cape Town
- Via the N1 toward Paarl, onto the R60 at Worcester and onto the R62 at Ashton
From Oudshoorn, Knysna or George
- Via the R62 from Oudshoorn
- Or via the N2 to Swellendam, onto the R322, then the R324 and then onto the R62
From Prince Albert or Beaufort West
- Via the N1 toward Touwsriver, onto the R318 towards Montagu via the Koo/Keisie valley
