About Mashatu Game Reserve
Mashatu is part of a greater Northern Tuli Game Reserve which spans 76 000 hectares of privately-owned land in the north-eastern sector of Botswana’s Tuli Block. An unpopulated wildlife area situated in eastern Botswana.
Nestled in the remote eastern corner of Botswana, where the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers meet, Mashatu boasts a landscape of wide plains, lush forests, rugged hills, and ancient ridges, creating an unparalleled ecological diversity.
An extraordinary landscape, adorned with abundant Mashatu, Mopane, Euphorbia and iconic Baobab trees. This distinct terrain is a testament to the marvels of evolution.
Named the “Land of the Giants” as Mashatu is home to no less than seven of Africa’s “giants” – the African elephant, the lion, the giraffe, the baobab tree, the eland, the ostrich and the kori bustard. It is therefore fitting that these giants have a massive habitat spanning 42 000 hectares of pristine wilderness, where they can roam freely.
Experience daily game drives at sunrise and sunset, where you’ll connect with the essence of the African wilderness. Mashatu Game Reserve is where nature’s captivating story unfolds. No fences hinder the creatures’ natural movements; they reside here by choice. Amid the poaching threat, Mashatu stands as a guardian of herds, offering safety to Africa’s giants.
